Born in Hong Kong, André Fu left for education in the UK at 14. He graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2000 and founded AFSO in the same year. In 2004, he returned to Hong Kong. His boutique studio has since created a series of internationally recognized works.
Notable commissions include the Upper House Hotel in Hong Kong; the Fullerton Bay Hotel at Singapore’s waterfront; Piacere Italian Restaurant and Nadaman Japanese Restaurant at Shangri-la Hotel Tokyo; and Capella Singapore’s signature Cassia Restaurant.
Subsequent projects have spanned a wide range of scales and typologies, from Lane Crawford Store’s Shoe Library—one of the biggest shoe boutiques in the World; a bespoke handtufted rug collection with Tai Ping Carpets; and the private residence of international actress Michelle Yeoh. Fu has also collaborated with gallerists Emmanuel Perrotin and Ben Brown on their art spaces in Hong Kong.
