Raised in New York and Tokyo, Stephanie Goto attended Cornell University, College of Architecture, where she was editor of the Journal of Architecture’s fifth volume. She began her architectural career working with renowned architect Rafael Viñoly as project architect on Jazz at Lincoln Center Rose Hall, Columbia University, International Climate Prediction Center, University of Chicago Graduate School of Business, and the Pittsburgh Convention Center. She later collaborated with design visionary David Rockwell as project architect on the winning entry for the Motown Museum in Detroit and restaurants in Miami Beach and Philadelphia.

In 2006, Goto collaborated with architect Tadao Ando on Morimoto in New York. In 2007, she re-imagined the legendary Monkey Bar, and in 2008, designed Corton for chef Paul Liebrandt and restauranteur Drew Nieporent, winning Hospitality Design magazine’s 2009  award for Fine Dining Restaurant. She recently completed a 4,000-square-foot pied-à-terre in the Museum Tower, a private club for the Willow Hotel Group, and La Mar Cebicheria Peruana for celebrity chef Gaston Acurio.
